Brain Awareness

In March 2013 the Brain Development Lab is bringing Brain Awareness Week activities back to the Eugene area. Brain Awareness Week is celebrated annually in March worldwide and is sponsored by the Dana Foundation http://www.dana.org/brainweek/ and the Society for Neuroscience http://www.sfn.org/baw. Brain Awareness Week promotes the field of neuroscience and celebrates the brain.

In 2013, Brain Awareness Week activities include:

  • Brain Awareness Exposition
    Saturday, March 9, 1-4 pm
    W.O.W Hall, 8th & Lincoln
    Eugene, OR

    A free, fun, family-friendly expo featuring demos and exhibits for kids and adults, providing information about how the brain works, including vision, language, perception, and attention.

  • Brain Trivia for All
    Tuesday, March 12, 7:00 pm
    Barn Light, 44 West Broadway
    Eugene, OR

  • Brain Awareness Science Pub(co-sponsored with OMSI)
    Tuesday, Thursday, March 14 7:00 pm
    Cozmic Pizza, 8th & Charnelton
    Eugene, OR

  • Jog Your Brain 5K and Fun Run
    Sunday, March 17, 2:00 pm
    Alton Baker Park

The Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) in Portland, OR also hosts many distinguished researchers during their Brain Awareness Lecture Series. The 2013 season is titled "Mysteries of the Mind - What are We Learning about the Hidden Secrets of the Brain?"
