Krista is a research assistant in both the Brain Development Lab (BDL) and Social and Affective Neuroscience (SAN) Lab. Her main duties in the BDL include assisting with collection of EEG and ECG data and administering behavioral assessments. Krista’s main research interests concern how altering one’s subjective representation of behaviors and events facilitates goal pursuit via manipulation of psychological distance, level of abstraction, and involvement with identity. Outside the lab, Krista enjoys biking with her husband and two dogs.

My primary role within the lab is the collection of the EEG data, in addition to building rapport with younger participants and their families. My primary interests include behavioral and education psychology, specifically by their efficacy with regards to cultural intersectionality. I hope to gain a great deal of experience throughout my tenure here and am extremely excited to be a part of this lab!
I am a Psychology and Latin American Studies double major, with a minor in Spanish at Willamette University. My main role at the lab revolves around the collection of EEG data, as well as making the families and participants we work with feel welcome and comfortable. I am extremely passionate about developmental psychology, especially as it relates to the educational barriers facing underrepresented youth. In the next few years, I plan to contribute to this amazing lab and ultimately pursue a PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
